We request the complaint case against the Norwegian Government concerning the ban on import of stray dogs into Norway to be reopened
The EFTA Surveillance Authority concluded in a letter dated 7 July 2021 that the administrative practices restricting the import of stray dogs into Norway is not compliant with the EEA legislation.
Norwegian citizens are forced to comply with an illegal regulation, contrary to the legislation that all EEA countries are obliged to follow.
We cannot accept exclusion for life for dogs and cats without a pedigree or other evidence of their origin. The intention should be to make adoption safe, not to exclude homeless animals to favor the breeding industry. A total ban works against its purpose by leading to more smuggling.
We, the undersigned, request the complaint case against the Norwegian Government to be reopened.
